CELEBRATORY RALLY PLANNED OUTSIDE ABC STUDIOS TO HONOR THE 43RD ANNIVERSARY OF ABC SOAP ONE LIFE TO LIFE AND IT'S NEW LEASE ON LIFE ONLINE

(New York) – Soap Fans United (SFU) is proud to announce that on the heels of the historic TV deal giving ABC Soaps All My Children and One Life to Live a new lease online, a celebratory pep rally will be held in front of The View and One Life to Live ABC studios at 320 West 66 St this Friday, July 15th. The rally coincides with the 43rd Anniversary of One Life to Live and is billed as a "Love-In/Block Party" to show appreciation for the hard work of the cast and the crew of the show. The celebration will take place between 10:00am-4:00pm to accommodate the morning and afternoon production schedule of the show. It is co-hosted by SFU Consultant and Public Relations Director Shawn Brady and SFU Member and OLTL Fan & Charity Volunteer Susan Hoffman.

SFU is expecting fans from different parts of the country to attend the rally, which will be decorated with blue and silver balloons. Seventy-five attendees are confirmed with sixty-six possibly attending. SFU will have a variety of home baked cupcakes and personalized note cards to give to the cast and crew. A home-made anniversary banner will be signed by attending fans to be given to the cast/crew. Attendees have been invited to make home-made signs to show how much the cast and crew are truly appreciated. A sound permit obtained by SFU from NYPD's 20th Precinct will allow music to be provided during the celebration rally.

Each fan attending will also be filling out Save Our Soaps (SOS) Coupons to encourage cable operators to demand a replacement for ABC Disney's SoapNet channel, which is scheduled to go off the air in 2012. Since SoapNet will not be airing AMC/OLTL when they conclude their run on ABC-TV Network this September and January 2012, respectively, SFU supports www.Sudz.tv's coupon campaign for a new soap channel to fill the void. The goal of the campaign is to find a broadcast & cable home for AMC/OLTL so the shows can be available to a majority of viewers who are not able to nor can afford to watch the shows online.

This is all such wonderful news for OLTL and AMC fans. Hopefully we will find another network to replace Soapnet as well. That would be awesome!
The rally is a great idea wish I could attend but my daughter is getting married next week and I have a million things to do! All the best!

We should have signs thanking Prospect Park and get the name out there..

it would be nice if Disney would not turn soapnet into another kid channel. You think if they even just put soaps on in the middle of the night so people without internet or who would rather watch on tv could DVR the shows. Kids wouldn't be up after 10. Lots of cable channels will go from one extreme to the other on their channels. I agree with Kim on really getting Prospect Park''s name out there. If we want it to succeed we need the people not on facebook and twitter to even know what has happened. Reading through other sites that aren't to do with facebook people still think the show ends in September.

Kara - I said the same thing about SoapNet...let it be Disney Jr from say 7am - 7pm and the other half it would be SoapNet - or something like that!
